It is not true to say that religion has no place in this era of science. Science has overthrown spiritual view of the universe, man and creation. Science emphasises the importance of reason, observation and experience. Religion is based on obedience, acceptance and authority.
Religion is a story that has been told for thousands of years, and not till technology has ripened have scientists disproved many beliefs. It is now that mankind lets religion restrain the mind from portraying the truth about life. Some people claim that science does not have all of the answers when it comes to the business of life.
Atheists who believe that science can replace religion are in for a rude shock as it is highly improbable. Religion serves as the glue that holds the identity of a person together. Religion and science have always been in conflict regarding the origin of life and the human existence in general.Religion once was used to explain natural phenomenons, science replaced it (partially). Religion is used to set good moral values, science will replace it. The problem is that moral values are not constants, as religious people think and are almost, if not; impossible to define by using the scientific method.Science has replaced religion as the dominant intellectual authority because science offers the chance to understand the universe, whereas religion just assumes things. Many believe, as was said by Richard Dawkins, “the truth means scientific truth”. Along with the logical Positivists.
